Delhi airport's Terminal 2 begun operations in October 2017, taking some pressure off the crowded Terminal 1. Go Air, Spice Jet & Indigo shifted its flight operations from terminal 1 (T1) of Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport to the revamped terminal 2 (T2) to facilitate the expansion of T1 as it continues to experience growing traffic. 15 mn passengers can be handled by T2 terminal. Terminal 2 of the IGI Airport has various key features to provide a seamless experience to flyers including adequate check-in counters; additional X-ray machines and baggage reclaim belts. The new terminal has four entry and two exit gates. To handle fast growing passenger traffic, as many as 74 check-in counters have been set up at the terminal building. A total of nine X-ray machines have been installed for hassle-free security checks. Besides, for comfortable movement of flyers, there are six contact stands as well as four bus gates at the terminal.
